Firewood and sunset

Art Description

Firewood and Sunset is a warm and evocative painting that captures the beauty of everyday life in an African village setting. The central figure carries a bundle of firewood on her head as she walks past simple traditional homes, creating a scene rooted in community, resilience and daily life. The painting’s rich earthy tones of orange, ochre, and gold create the feeling of a sun-filled evening, while the golden sun in the sky adds a peaceful, almost timeless quality. The geometric forms of the houses and the simplified figure give the artwork a distinctive contemporary African aesthetic. Beyond the beautiful colours, the painting celebrates the quiet dignity of ordinary work the strength of a woman carrying her responsibilities while moving through her community. Firewood and Sunset is a celebration of African heritage, everyday resilience and the simple beauty found in familiar moments.
